Compactor and roller financing
A compactor is the machine that makes everything else on the site last: a soil compactor on the base, an asphalt roller behind the paver. Paving and site work contractors buy them in pairs with the machines they follow. iFinancial Group finances compactors and rollers new or used, on a one-page application. No tax returns and no audited financial statements to apply, no minimum and up to $1,000,000.
Who you're dealing with
iFinancial Group has funded equipment since 1997, roughly $600 million of it, in all 50 states. We're a direct lender, not a broker, so the file is underwritten in house and not shopped around. Our customers have ranged from independent manufacturers to global technology companies. We've barely advertised in almost three decades. The business came from repeat customers, referrals, and vendors sending us their customers.
What you're financing
Small asphalt rollers, the 1 to 3 ton tandem drum machines a driveway and parking lot crew runs, typically list new from about $40,000 to $80,000. Mid-size asphalt rollers of 5 to 10 tons run roughly $90,000 to $160,000. Single drum soil compactors with an 84 inch drum, the standard site work machine, run $120,000 to $200,000, and pneumatic rollers run $100,000 to $180,000.
Those are market ranges. The maker, the hours, the drum type and vibration system move them.
What goes on the same approval
The compactor, a padfoot shell kit for a smooth drum machine, a compaction measurement system and the trailer that moves a small roller go on one approval. A paving contractor often finances the paver and the rollers behind it as one package, which is one approval and one payment for the whole crew.
Freight and an extended warranty are soft costs and can ride on the same deal, on many deals up to 30% of the total.
Who buys them and how the payment gets covered
Asphalt paving contractors, site work and grading contractors, utility contractors backfilling trenches, and landfill operators. Paving is seasonal in most of the country and runs hard while it runs, which is why seasonal payments are a normal structure on paving equipment.
New or used
A used 84 inch soil compactor five to ten years old typically trades from about $40,000 to $100,000, and used asphalt rollers from $25,000 to $90,000 depending on size. Rental fleets and paving contractors cycle rollers regularly, so dealers and auctions have steady supply, and all channels are financeable here.
On a used roller, the drum surface, the vibration bearings, the articulation joint and the hours get the inspection. On the financing side it's the invoice or bill of sale, the serial number, and proof of what was paid. There's no title; the lender's claim is a UCC filing against the serial number.
What slows a compactor deal down
Mostly nothing. Rollers are a straightforward machine to finance and a deal can fund inside a week once the terms are signed. A paving package of paver plus rollers above $1,000,000 is written under a master lease; below that it's the same one page.
How it works with iFinancial Group
It's the same one-page application whether the equipment is small or the deal runs to $1,000,000: no tax returns and no audited financial statements to apply, no minimum and up to $1,000,000. Decisions typically come back within 24 hours, and an approval holds up to 60 days. New and used equipment, terms up to 84 months, and soft costs up to 30% so freight, setup and training can go in the same deal. Payment structures beyond level payments are there when the equipment earns unevenly. We've been doing this since 1997, in all 50 states.
Common questions
Can I finance the paver and the rollers together?
Yes. A paving crew's machines can go on one approval as one package, from the same dealer or different ones.
Can I finance a used roller from a paving contractor who is selling?
Yes. A private party sale needs the bill of sale, the serial number, a lien search, and proof of payment.
Can the payments follow the paving season?
Yes. Seasonal payments weighted into the paving months and stepped down through winter are a normal structure on paving equipment.
Can the attachments go on the same financing as the machine?
Yes. Buckets, thumbs, hammers, forks, grapples and the quick coupler are part of the equipment and go on one approval with the machine, whether they come from the same dealer or a different one.
What do you need to approve a deal?
A one-page application. No tax returns and no audited financial statements to apply, no minimum and up to $1,000,000. Decisions typically come back within 24 hours.
