Dental CAD/CAM and intraoral scanner financing
Chairside CAD/CAM is how a dental practice makes a crown in one visit instead of two, and an intraoral scanner is how it stops taking impressions. iFinancial Group finances scanners, mills, furnaces and full systems, new or refurbished, on a one-page application. No tax returns and no audited financial statements to apply, no minimum and up to $1,000,000.
Who you're dealing with
iFinancial Group has funded equipment since 1997, roughly $600 million of it, in all 50 states. We're a direct lender, not a broker, so the file is underwritten in house and not shopped around. Our customers have ranged from independent manufacturers to global technology companies. We've barely advertised in almost three decades. The business came from repeat customers, referrals, and vendors sending us their customers.
What you're financing
Intraoral scanners typically run about $20,000 to $45,000. Chairside milling units run roughly $50,000 to $120,000. A full chairside system, scanner, design software, mill and sintering or glazing furnace, runs $100,000 to $160,000. Lab-grade mills and 3D printers for in-house labs run higher.
Those are market ranges. The manufacturer, the software and the materials the mill handles move them.
What goes on the same approval
The scanner, the design software, the mill, the furnace, a 3D printer for models and guides, and the starter materials go on one approval. Installation and training are soft costs and can ride on the same deal, on many deals up to 30% of the total.
Who buys them and how the payment gets covered
General dentists doing crowns and restorative work, prosthodontists, orthodontists using scanners for aligners, and practices building an in-house lab. The case is lab fees and chair time: a practice sending crowns to a lab pays a lab bill every month and sees the patient twice, and a chairside system turns both into one visit.
A scanner alone is often the first step, with the mill added later on its own approval.
New, refurbished or used
Refurbished scanners and mills trade through dental dealers and from practices that are upgrading, often at a large discount to new. All are financeable here. Make sure the design software license transfers with a used system.
On the financing side it's the invoice or bill of sale, the serial numbers and proof of what was paid.
What slows a CAD/CAM deal down
Software subscriptions. Many systems are sold with an annual software or support plan, and the invoice should separate the equipment from the recurring plan so the equipment is what gets financed. Otherwise these are straightforward and can fund inside a week once the terms are signed.
How it works with iFinancial Group
It's the same one-page application whether the equipment is small or the deal runs to $1,000,000: no tax returns and no audited financial statements to apply, no minimum and up to $1,000,000. Decisions typically come back within 24 hours, and an approval holds up to 60 days. New and used equipment, terms up to 84 months, and soft costs up to 30% so freight, setup and training can go in the same deal. Payment structures beyond level payments are there when the equipment earns unevenly. We've been doing this since 1997, in all 50 states.
Common questions
Can I finance just an intraoral scanner?
Yes. A scanner on its own is a common purchase, and the mill can be added later on its own approval.
Can the design software go on the financing?
Software bought with the system can ride on the same deal. Recurring support plans are usually kept separate.
Can I finance a refurbished mill?
Yes. Refurbished equipment from a dealer or another practice is financeable.
Can installation, software and training go on the same financing?
Yes. Installation, cabinetry and plumbing tied to the equipment, software, IT integration and training are soft costs and can go on the same deal, on many deals up to 30 percent of the total.
What do you need to approve a deal?
A one-page application. No tax returns and no audited financial statements to apply, no minimum and up to $1,000,000. Decisions typically come back within 24 hours.
