Ultrasound machine financing
An ultrasound machine is the imaging purchase a practice makes when it wants to scan its own patients instead of referring them out, and the refurbished market makes it within reach of almost any practice. iFinancial Group finances ultrasound new or refurbished, with the transducers on the same approval, on a one-page application. No tax returns and no audited financial statements to apply, no minimum and up to $1,000,000.
Who you're dealing with
iFinancial Group has funded equipment since 1997, roughly $600 million of it, in all 50 states. We're a direct lender, not a broker, so the file is underwritten in house and not shopped around. Our customers have ranged from independent manufacturers to global technology companies. We've barely advertised in almost three decades. The business came from repeat customers, referrals, and vendors sending us their customers.
What you're financing
Point-of-care and portable ultrasound systems typically run about $20,000 to $50,000. Cart-based general imaging systems run roughly $60,000 to $150,000. Premium cardiac, OB/GYN and shared-service systems run $150,000 and up.
Those are market ranges. The specialty, the number and type of transducers, the software packages and the manufacturer move them.
What goes on the same approval
The system, the transducers (often $5,000 to $20,000 each), the specialty software packages, the printer and the reporting or PACS connection go on one approval. Installation, applications training and IT integration are soft costs and can ride on the same deal, on many deals up to 30% of the total.
Who buys them and how the payment gets covered
OB/GYN, vascular, cardiology, urology, orthopedic and sports medicine, emergency and urgent care, pain management, physical medicine, and veterinary practices. The case is usually referrals kept in house: a practice that scans its own patients bills the study and keeps the patient.
Where ultrasound is part of a new service line that ramps, a deferred first payment, typically up to 90 days, can carry the start.
New, refurbished or used
Refurbished ultrasound systems typically run about $15,000 to $60,000 and often carry a warranty from the refurbisher, and the refurbished market is one of the largest in medical equipment. Systems from a practice that is upgrading are also sold directly. All are financeable here.
On the financing side it's the invoice or bill of sale, the serial number and proof of what was paid.
What slows an ultrasound deal down
Almost nothing. Ultrasound is a straightforward purchase to finance, and a refurbished system can fund inside a week once the terms are signed. A practice buying several systems for several locations can put them on one approval.
How it works with iFinancial Group
It's the same one-page application whether the equipment is small or the deal runs to $1,000,000: no tax returns and no audited financial statements to apply, no minimum and up to $1,000,000. Decisions typically come back within 24 hours, and an approval holds up to 60 days. New and used equipment, terms up to 84 months, and soft costs up to 30% so freight, setup and training can go in the same deal. Payment structures beyond level payments are there when the equipment earns unevenly. We've been doing this since 1997, in all 50 states.
